Does CORD:USE Cord Blood Bank offer discounts or special promotions?
CORD:USE offers discounts for repeat subscribers, multiple births, and families who wish to prepay 18 years of storage fees. CORD:USE also offers discounts for members of the military and for obstetrical providers. CORD:USE also offers a Gift Registry so that friends and family members can contribute to the gift of cord blood banking.
Are payment plans / financing options available?'
CORD:USE provides a variety of payment plan options through our partners at CareCredit® including no interest 6 and 12 month options as well as extended payment plans of 24, 36, 48, and in some cases 60 months.
Will I also get charged by my obstetrical provider to do the cord blood collection?
Some obstetrical providers may choose to charge additional fees. We encourage you to consult with your obstetrical provider regarding any applicable fees.
What kind of guarantee does CORD:USE Cord Blood Bank provide?
No company can provide a guarantee that stored cord blood will be a match for family members or that cord blood will be the right choice and an effective cure for a specific disease. At CORD:USE we stand behind our processes and reputation with a Quality Assurance Policy. Should your family’s cord blood be used for transplantation and it fails to engraft (produce healthy, new cells), if medically indicated and a match is available, CORD:USE will provide a unit from the CORD:USE Public Cord Blood Bank at no charge. If a medically acceptable match is not available in the CORD:USE Public Cord Blood Bank, CORD:USE will refund all fees paid by you and pay you $50,000. Are refunds provided in the event of a cancellation?
In the event a cancellation occurs prior to the cord blood’s storage, all fees will be refunded within 30 days except a $200 cancellation fee to a cover a portion of the costs incurred by CORD:USE.
What services does CORD:USE provide for patients in need of a transplant?
The CORD:USE Directed Donor Program is a service for families of patients with an acute transplant need. This service is provided for families who wish to have cord blood collected from a newborn which is to be provided to a sibling with a life-threatening disease in immediate need of a cord blood transplant. The CORD:USE Directed Donor Program provides collection, processing, and distribution of the cord blood free of charge for these families.
